"Walking Through Research”
Research training and support for Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Community Research Assistants
Building upon the success of the Walking Through Research Program from 2009, the PHCRED program will again be offering this training in 2010. Walking Through Research is a one-week intensive workshop on the "Big Picture" vioew of the research process, followed by teleconference support for the workshop participants. The program is designed to meet the training needs of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander people who work as on-the-ground research assistants in their communities, as well as Aboriginal and Torres Straight Island students who are considering going on to enrol in a research degree. Walking Through Research will be run this year at the main campus on the University of Sydney, from 27 September to 1 October.
