What is there to do in Lismore on the weekends? What if I want to explore the surrounding areas?
Where is the accommodation in relation to my placement?
Students attending their rural placement at Lismore Base Hospital/St Vincents/Community Health are accommodated on 4th Floor of Crawford House. Crawford House is the old nurses' quarters of Lismore Base Hospital. Medical students have the 4th floor for accommodation, which is single room (with single bed, wardrobe and desk, air conditioned) with shared bathrooms, laundry and kitchen and common room. There is a television in the room as well, but no video. Access to the hospital is simply up a long corridor.
Accommodation cost is $50.00 per student per week. However, if you bring a photocopy of your lease, mortgage etc then this fee is waived. Sydney and Newcastle University medical students get free accommodation.
